Frequently asked questions

Can I call the practice for a blood test?

It would be best to make an appointment with your doctor to discuss if the blood tests you are wanting are appropriate for you. A review of your conditions and medications followed by an informed discussion regarding blood test monitoring will take place. This also applies for those who are on regular medications. You can choose to go to Awanui Labs directly and request blood tests however this will be unfunded and you will be charged.

We are receiving some requests for general check up blood tests without being seen by the doctor. This is not good clinical practice and your request will be declined.

Why can't I see all my blood results on the portal (MyIndici)?

If an external doctor has ordered the blood test, you won't be able to see these unless the results have been copied to your doctor.

Your normal blood tests will sometimes be visible first, however anything that requires more time to be reviewed by your doctor may taker longer for you to see on MyIndici.

Why am I getting a statement charge? This only applies to unpaid invoices more than seven days old. This applies for consultation visits and other services at the practice as well as prescriptions requested online.
